Asset protection involves strategies to protect and safeguard your home, your investments, and your other assets from being taken by those who believe you may owe them money or may attempt to file a claim against you for any reason.
Such creditors can include credit card companies, patients who have been treated by you as a physician or surgeon, or someone who may claim that either you or your wife caused them to suffer either physical injury as a consequence of an automobile accident, or for some other reason. Your goal should be to use as many approaches and to make it as difficult as possible to discourage and defeat your potential creditors from being successful at seizing your assets and taking them away from you.
But you must begin to protect yourself as much ahead of time as you can. This is to prevent your creditors from claiming that you have made a transfer in an attempt to defraud them.
